North Bay Shore is located on Long Island's South Shore in Suffolk County, NY. It is a small community of just under 14,000 people that is part of the Town of Islip. Local politics are handled by an elected Town Supervisor and four Town Councilmembers, who together form the Town Board. The Town Board sets the town's budget, levies taxes and fees, and makes decisions about land use and zoning matters in North Bay Shore. On the county level, North Bay Shore is represented by three Suffolk County Legislators who are responsible for proposing legislation to address local issues. Additionally, NY state’s Senatorial District 3 (which includes North Bay Shore) has two Senators - Anthony Palumbo and Phil Boyle - who work to represent their constituents at the state level.
